Nick def. Jess (167.9-117.6)
Jess entered the week on a high after torching the scoreboard in her first matchup; but what goes up, must come down. Chris Olave (23.8) and Travis Kelce (28.5) gave her strong performances, but her twin RBs regressed significantly, leaving her begging for a savior performance from Jaxson Dart (0.8). Unfortunately his knee exploded after getting table-topped by the Rams D-line. Nick tuned into the 4 o’clock slate to catch most of his team’s performances. DeVonta Smith (31.1) and Brock Purdy (29.1) anchored the scoring, and Davante Adams (42.9) terrorized the Giants in the night game to cap off the highest team score of the week. Both Managers move to 1-1.
Rob def. Jeremy (112.6-86.2)
Rob and Jeremy faced off in a battle of 0-1 managers looking for a reason to celebrate. Jeremy needed his team to step up in Puka Nacua’s (inj.) absence, but Jake Ferguson (20.9) was the only player to break 20 pts. Jeremiyah Love (7.7) and Carnell Tate (5.9) are off to a lackluster start. Rob had to leave the beach behind, but his roster picked up his spirits in a big way. Jahmyr Gibbs (26.4) and Jaylen Waddle (25.0) led the team, and Trey Tucker (25.7) is showing a lot of promise as the Raiders’ WR1. Rob picks up a tally in the win column, but at a cost: Caleb Williams (8.1) will be week-to-week with a pulled hammy.
Owen def. McKay (143.1-103.3)
Another pair of winless teams took the field in week 2. McKay’s excitement peaked on Thursday night as Amon-Ra St. Brown (38.6) broke in the new Buffalo turf. Both of his RBs were able to grab TDs on Sunday, but he has yet to get ANYTHING from the TE duo of Kyle Pitts (2.7) and Colston Loveland (1.3). Owen’s team’s from Texas, I can tell. His trio of Dallas Cowboys poured on the points against the Commanders. Dak Prescott (30.2) to CeeDee Lamb (38.7) was music to his years. It also helps having a kicker that hits 60 yarders with ease. Owen hands McKay another L.
Gerhardt def. Tommi Jo (156.9-89.5)
Tommi Jo is still looking for the spark that led her to a championship last year. Her new acquisition, Aaron Jones (13.1) was able to contribute early with the injury to Jordan Mason, and Derrick Henry (18.9) continues to run over anyone in his way. However, she needed more production from her WRs if she wanted to compete against the high-scoring Milk Man. Gerhardt owns the top 2 players in the league through 2 weeks. Josh Allen (42.4) doesn’t like to share the spotlight- he does everything himself, and JSN (46.1), the 2025 Offensive Player of the Year, isn’t resting on his laurels. He only needed 1 point from the rest of his team to take down the champ.
Brent def. Kyle (108.4-86.1)
Brent and Kyle were both victorious in week 1 leading to a highly anticipated clash. Kyle’s team identity is about pounding the rock, but none of his trio of running backs could find endzone this week. Neither could his new acquisition, George Pickens (10.8). Without any high scores, he was forced to pray that Brent experienced the same luck. Jonathan Taylor (31.0), Dalton Kincaid (23.5), and Kenneth Walker (27.6) had other plans. It wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows- Jadarian Price and DJ Moore both exited their games with injuries. Brent will take the victory now and worry about filling a lineup vs Jess later.
Frank def. Vince (107.5-84.1)
Frank and Vince are in the league. They both won last week. Have they opened the app since the draft? The jury is still out. Both teams had injured players in their WR1 slots, which, I guess, cancels out. Vince would be sad to hear that another starter went down in Saquon Barkley (3.2). At least he can hang his hat on decent performances from Sam LaPorta (18.0) and Christian Watson (14.5). Frank put his stock in CMC (23.8), who continues to be the alpha in San Francisco. Stefon Diggs (22.5) has also been a welcome surprise in the points column. His special teams and defense continue to perform, propelling Frank to 2-0 (someone let him know).
Ashley def. Jen (136.6-131.7)
Last, and definitely not least, we have the battle of the weekend: Ashley vs Jen. This matchup was high scoring and full of twists. Ja’Marr Chase (27.1) looked like himself, Chase McLaughlin (20.0) hit 4 FGs, and Garrett Wilson (17.5) continues to rep his OSU roots in NY. Jen got production from just about everyone, but she found herself down by 20 on Monday night. Ashley built her lead with great showings from Patrick Mahomes (29.2), James Cook (24.3), and the Patriots DEF (20.0). I’m sure she was confident heading into the Giants/Rams game. Kyren Williams vs. Malik Nabers. Once Jaxson Dart went down, Malik’s night got a lot harder. He also spent some time on the sideline with an apparent shoulder issue (kinda just seemed like he was pouting). Kyren Williams scored a TD late in the first half and it looked like Jen had a chance. Her hopes were dashed as Davante Adams continued to steal the spotlight. She falls 5 points short and Ashley continues her regular season dominance.
